Well, I got COVID and it sucked.

Relax in southern comfort on the east bank of the Mississippi. You're just around the corner from Beale Street and Sun Records. Watch the ducks, throw back a few and tell us what's on your mind.

Its well known for centuries ,
it makes you taste not so good to insects that bite and perhaps helps prevent blood borne organisms of one sort or another .

I kept up a regular whiskey routine during lockdown , after returning from public spaces Id vape a small measure of whiskey from the edge of a glass ,just enough to coat the airways .
Anytime I get the beginnings of colds and flu its hot whiskey is the medicine ,
In the old days here before calpol and diagnoses/behavioural modification meds for children the grannies sometimes added a teaspoon of whiskey to the babies warmed cows milk bottle , as mild sedative ,
Its like the old blues song remedy, milk cream and alcohol .
So you just inhale the vapors of the whiskey ? You heat it up first?

Back then before the "everyone gets a trophy" generation was born, parents used to rub whiskey or any other liquor on babies gums when they started teething

Ethyl alcohol has prophylactic properties. I recall reading a study about diners eating contaminated shellfish down in FL. The diners who drank hard drinks with their meals did not get sick while people eating the same food with only beer or soda to drink fell ill from the contaminated shellfish.

I will occasionally nosh on some raw garlic.... Maybe that works by keeping people away.

I am drinking a bottle of Fever Tree and it tastes really sweet, similar to Mountain Dew but bitter. I like it. Thanks for the advice!

Do you use it to prevent contagion or once you get sick?
So how are you doing today?

Doing much better, Wayne. Thanks. I've been taking the Fever Tree tonic water, which tastes great BTW, and I've also had much better sleep. I think I might be near the end of the tunnel.

AnalogJoe wrote: Thu Dec 21, 2023 9:53 am Hey, so let me ask you. In the later years I've been more hesitant about therapeutics, my experience is that the more you put into your body might end up doing more harm than good. Have you had any problems with Colloidal Silver or do you know of any problems associated with it?
If it is improperly made it can introduce argyria. The blue-bloods of Europe had argyrosis.
A lot of cheap nutraceuticals have heavy metal contamination.

Modern CS is usually low ppm, nano-particle and doesn't introduce argyria. I use a CS mouthwash and toothpaste: https://drjonesnaturals.com/collections/oral-care

I stopped using flouride toothpaste, drinking flouride and aluminum-based deodorants and cookware.

I also take "atomic" iodine from time-to-time maybe 750 mcg max per day. About a drop.
I was re-reading this thread for some of your therapeutic recommendations. Whats the deal behind the cookware? What do you use instead?

We had some 50s and 60s era uncoated aluminum cookware that was my Mom's. There is a casual but inconclusive link between aluminum and Alzheimer's.

I prefer cast-iron and classic Revere stainless steel but we often receive ceramic-coated aluminum cookware as gifts.

We cook on gas stoves and I suppose that electric or induction stoves drive a lot of cookware choices. Fortunately I haven't had to use an electric stove in 45 years. I hate them.
